Selena Gomez released a new song to the world today after taking a hiatus. She teamed up with Kygo out of the kindness of her heart to release “It Ain’t Me.” If you are like me, you’ve been living for more music from seleners….you also have no clue who Kygo is. Luckily for you, I got you cover because this is a review of “It Ain’t Me.”
First things first-who the hell is Kygo? He’s a Norwegian DJ and producer. He produced two tracks on the Fifth Harmony album. Yeah, that’s pretty much it on him for right now. The song is gets stuck in your head. It’s the lyrics that will really get you. While it seems like a sweet song…it’s very deep. Deep enough to warrent having deep bolded.
Lyrically, the song is speaking about a relationship that ended because her boyfriend had a little bit of a drinking problem. “Who’s waking up to drive you home when you’re drunk and all alone?” is one the lyrics that points to that. Everything sounds like it’s pointing to Justin Bieber so you know what that means…..JELENA SAGA LIVE ON! Oh.god.
Selena’s vocals are killer on this. It’s reminsice of her vocals on “Good for you.” They are literally slay on this song. It’s makes me rather impressed how much her vocals have improved over the years. The production of it is good up until the end. It’s there when it sounds like there’s something wrong with your speakers. It’s not.
Overall, the song is an amazing song. Some producing things I don’t really agree with but it’s something that I can overlook because of how good it is.
