Single Review: “Sorry Not Sorry” by Demi Lovato

Lovatics rejoice as their queen has come back. Demi Lovato released her newest single to the world today and boy, it’s a Demi Lovato single.

“Sorry Not Sorry” is pretty much a fuck you anthem. It has an R&B feel to it that isn’t like any other Demi Lovato song that she has put out. She has given us rock, pop, ballads, and now she has tapped into the soulful R&B. It fits her voice extremely well, especially with the way she has used it for “Sorry Not Sorry.”

The song itself is extremely catchy and just slay with its lyrics. Every time I listen to it, It reminds me of Ariana Grande’s “The Way.” It sounds like certain parts of it. It something that you can easily hear at parts of it and you can also hear it subtly underneath. It doesn’t really hurt the song but it really doesn’t help it. It just made me think of that song while I was listening to “Sorry Not Sorry.” I think they could have still used/sample that song but done it in a different way that wouldn’t make me think of Ariana Grande.

“Sorry Not Sorry” is a great song but it’s just not up to Demi Lovato’s usual banger status. It’s not a “Cool for the Summer” but yet it’s not as bad as “Who’s that Boy.” I think the music video will help make it amazing as long as it isn’t something bad or stupid.
