Let’s make the Yuletide gay again

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. It’s also the gayest time of year. Yep, you read that right. It’s the gayest time of year. Christmas is literally the gayest holiday of them all. Easter probably is a close second, but that’s a story for another day.

Now, I’m not saying that it’s a bad thing that Christmas is the gayest holiday of them all. In fact, it’s what makes Christmas so jolly and a spectacle. This is good fun. Being gay, more specifically LGBTQ+ isn’t a bad thing and shouldn’t be treated as such. I’m just saying what most LGBTQ+ are thinking. This is meant to be in good fun.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Yas king.

The ironic thing about Christmas being gay af is a simple fact that it’s a Christian holiday. I wouldn’t say most, but Christians aren’t too big on LGBTQ+. Top it all off, Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ in Christianity. Now I’m not saying that Jesus was a homosexual, but I’ve never seen a straight man want his birth celebrated with a dead tree covered in decorations, lights, and a star on the top of it.

You can not tell me that a Gay didn’t decorate this

Then we decorate our homes in lights and other decorations. These lights are typically rainbow lights. What does a rainbow represent? Peace and serenity. Oh, it’s also the colors of the gay flag. Yeah, you are decorating your home in virtually the gay flag to celebrate the birth of the most fabulous human of all time.

Then we also turn Christmas into a musical theatre production with the songs we listen to during this time of year. I’m talking about Christmas songs. They pretty much show tunes. So when you are singing about mommy kissing Santa Claus, it’s a show tune. I’m not talking about the new versions of the song, but rather the original ones that we were listening to from the 1950s. They are show tunes, and we celebrate them like they are a classic broadway number. That’s gay. That’s very gay.

Santa Claus is a gay bear daddy.

Then we have the gayest thing about Christmas: Santa Claus. I’m sorry, but the only guy that slides down tight holes in satin polyester matching jumpsuit and hat with a huge stack of toys is gay. He had me sold at the outfit alone. Yep, you read that right. I’m calling Santa a homosexual. He was only trying to get your daddy when he was kissing your mommy. Make you wonder what kind of “toys” in his bag. This makes more sense of why moms love to take their children to trust him. Moms love good and nice gays.

My goal is not to ruin Christmas for the masses. But instead, let all the gay-hating and judgemental people of the world that even their sacred holiday is gay. In fact, it’s probably the gayest holiday of them all. And y’all accept Christmas for the homosexual that it is, and yet you don’t accept your fellow man. It’s what gay Jesus would want you to do. This holiday season, I hope everyone finds love, acceptance, and better taste in clothing.

“Let’s stereotype and it’ll be all better” said no one ever

Can we have a serious conversation for a moment? Now this isn’t going to be your average run of the mill article, we are going to discuss something that has been in the news a lot lately and pisses me off. It’s something that feels like I have discussed before to an extent but I’m going all in for this article. So get into a comfortable chair and grab your drink because I’m about to break it down for you.

The state of Indiana has passed a law called the Religious Freedom Restoration Act. This act allows individuals and companies to deny people or groups that their religion doesn’t approve of or they are against their religious beliefs. So pretty much, if you came into my business and I felt that you were impeding on my religious beliefs, I could deny you service. While one would think no one would deny anyone service in their establishment because of the fact they would lose money, everyone is kind of getting the sense that the law would be used to deny the LGBT community service. Evidence to this is the story about a little pizza shop in Indiana that wouldn’t cater a gay wedding, because gay people have no taste and would want to serve Pizza at a wedding. This then caused many people to say “I won’t serve anyone that is gay because it’s against the bible/my religious beliefs.” So this sparks the question: What make a gay person look more different from a person that is considered straight? Do they glow? Do they have a birthmark or a marking on them that shows that they are gay? Can you just look at a person and just go “There’s a homosexual!”

The answer is no. Gay people look like everyone else. They bleed like everyone else, they breathe like everyone else, and they even talk like everyone else. Imagine that! I probably just blew your mind, or if you are like me, you probably thinking that this stuff is common sense. To have a list of characteristics that you use to decide a person’s sexuality without even talking/knowing them is stereotyping. As a person who has been stereotyped throughout life, it extremely sucks and it can be hurtful at time. I fully believe that stereotyping is a form of bullying because it’s pretty much teach people how to discrimination.  Example: you are stereotyping a black person if you think they are going to jump you, which is going to cause you to be less social/fearful of anyone of that race and cause you think that they are going to be up to no good. See how it is a vicious cycle?

This law, whether it was their intentions or not, is pretty much allowing people to stereotype based off of their religious beliefs. Which is funny because isn’t it always said that God loves everyone? So he loves everyone but people who goes against someone’s religious beliefs and will understand if you are stereotyping and denying your neighbor service? I’m not a religious per say, but isn’t “Love Thy Neighbor” mentioned in the bible somewhere?

Now I’m not telling anyone to change/break their religious beliefs, but rather think about it if you were in the person’s shoes that you are stereotyping/denying service to. Would you want to be unfairly judged? Is it fair to judge someone without even knowing them? Would you want it to happen to you? That’s the adult response in this article. Are you ready for the non-adult response?

Grow the f*** up! We live in 2015, get over yourself and shove your self-righteous attitude where the sun don’t shine (spoiler: that’s your ass). You can’t control everyone and make everyone see/believe in what you do. This law was created so you can try to show a community that they aren’t normal and make to others change to your way of thinking. Just let people live their lives the way they want. Is a man marrying a man or woman marrying a woman really hurting your life? If they are just by dating, maybe you should be the one that goes to conversion therapy so you can mind your own damn business and let people live. Stop trying to control over people’s life just because you don’t agree with it. I don’t agree with people’s stupidity but I’m still going to help them. And please for the love of God, stop using the bible as an excuse for you not agreeing with something. There are plenty on modern-day things that we use in our everyday life that according to the bible, would be a sin. It’s hypocritical.

Did you enjoy that non-adult response? Bottom line is: stop trying to tell people how to live their life, treat everyone equally, and love thy neighbor.

Grind My Gears Test 1

You know what really “Grinds My Gears?” Homophobia.

Across the pond, a British DJ decided to walk down the street and hold hands with another straight friends of his after he heard his openly gay friend talk about harassment he gets when he walks down the street holding hands with his boyfriend. Like any good social experiment, they video taped it. As they walk down the street, you can see the looks that they get. The people literally go out of their way to stare. ┬áIt reminded me of the scenes in teen movies where the main character had a rumor spread around about them and they walked down the hallway in slow motion as the people turn their head and talk about the main character with the people around them (I’ve had that happen before and believe me, it sucked).

The best part of the video is when they ask two people why they did what they did and one woman has the balls to says that she was fine with gay people but didn’t like it pushed in her face. This is suburban white bitch for “As long as I don’t see it, I don’t care.” That like saying that you like to eat fish as long as it doesn’t go in your mouth. This is actually how most people view homosexuality. They say that they are totally fine with it but then uses words like “Flamer”, and “Fag” in a way to describe someone who identifies as gay, or even as transgender, but are totally fine with them being gay. Let’s not forget everyone’s favorite phrase “That’s so gay.” If you were fine with gay, then you wouldn’t use those words in a negative way.

If you are reading this and don’t approve of homosexuality, think about it if the shoe was on the other foot. Would you want people to tell you that you are not normal and look at you like a sideshow freak just because you like someone the same gender as you? Treat you like you are alien because you love someone who you can’t help but love? Whether you believe that homosexuality is something you can fix or not, you will agree that you can’t help but love the person you love.

If you are a someone who is facing homophobia, and it is coming from someone close to you, and I have some advice for you: you don’t need them. If they can’t accept you for you, then they aren’t worth your time. Living in an environment where no one accepts you isn’t healthy. Cut those people out of your life until they are ready to accept you. It could take some time but if they really care about you, they will come around. You shouldn’t have to hide who you are in order to please people. Be yourself and people will care and love you no matter what.

We, at The Pop Project, accept you for you not matter who you love..or don’t love for that matter. Hence why you never see an article about us making fun of someone’s sexual orientation.
