Single Review: “Get Low” by Zedd and Liam Payne

img_0422

Looks like we have another contender for song of the summer. sigh. How many of these songs are we going to as contender for song of the summer? But Liam Payne should have a higher chance to have it since he just released a new song of the summer.

“Get Low” is a dance song released by Zedd and Liam Payne. I like to think of it as “Strip That Down” on steroids. It’s a song that is based on the same premise just feels a little more fleshed out. It’s a sexy club song that helps break Liam away from his boy band image that was practically shredded away in his debut song.

It’s a catchy song with an even catchier beat. The song has a Drake vibe to it, which I’m honestly tired of. Either get Drake to perform your song or go with any other style. The vocals on the song are rather robotic. Sometimes it feels like it goes with the emotion and the sexiness the song is trying to give off but then other times, it just feels like Liam is just singing. It would have been nice to have something that makes his vocals feel different from what we got. Something to spice up it up.

I really hope that the video that’s on YouTube for it isn’t the official video because it isn’t the video that you would expect for something like this. If it’s not, then hopefully it is the video we wanted for “Strip That Down” and just be just one big sexual powerhouse of a video.

“Get Low” is a very good dance song that could really actually be a summer hit, too bad there’s like a million of contenders for it. It could be a little bit better when it comes to vocals but it’s good for what it’s worth.

Zedd shows Kesha’s ‘True Colors”

truecolors

Today, Kesha released her first new single in three long years. Kesha teamed with Zedd to release “True Colors.”

Originally sang on Zedd’s 2015 album of the same name by a different singer, two got together after Zedd tweeted her admit her legal trouble with Dr. Luke and Sony. The song is extremely well produce and powerful ballad. It’s an addicting song to listen to. The lyrics are brought into a new meaning when Kesha sings them. It’s kind of her anthem of her life.

She’s also really singing in it and she shows off that she can really sing. Her vocals are amazing. Hopefully, there is a music video for the song because I want to see what they can do visually for the song.

Overall, this song is pretty much amazing and I’m glad to have Kesha back, even if she’s missing the $.

Here’s the song for you to listen to over and over again:

They still want you to know

Zelena

Zedd and Selena Gomez released the music video for their newest single “I Want You to Know” and let me tell you, this video is well, awkward. And like the depth to this video, this review will be short.

The video is pretty much is Selena Gomez shaking her thing in a club while singing. During this dancing, Selena makes out with a girl, and walks in a hallway full of guys that are vying for her attention. She also changes her clothes a lot. The only change we get is that we see her putting lipstick on and kissing herself in the mirror. Oh, Zedd has a cameo in the video but just his head and shots of him staring at her in the club.

The whole entire video is just one big WTF. It makes little to no sense and looks like they just rushed something together in between make out session between Selena and Zedd.

Overall, it’s a major disappoint as I expected it to be a little better especially since it was Zedd and Selena.

Here the video, it kinda sucks but still watch it:

Selena wants us to know about Zedd

zeddlena

Selena Gomez is back and this time, she is teaming up with the German hunk that has stolen her heart Zedd (I cannot guarantee if I will not refer to Zedd as Lord Zedd). They decided that they will take their love and produce a love baby in the form of the song “I Want You to Know.” And we decided to review the single for you, that way you can save your eardrums if the song is bad: If you want to take the leap with us, here the song:

The song itself is a catchy song. It describes the love that Zedd and Selena has (or at least I like to think so).   Now the song itself is an okay song. It isn’t like Selena’s previous album Stars Dance but at the same time it’s better than the crap she threw at us on the Greatest Hits album (minus The Heart Wants What it Wants and My Dilemma 2.0). I expect it to be one of those songs that will grow over you in time but it’s not anything that I thought it would be. I had low expectations on it. While Zedd is a powerhouse when it comes to producing and releasing singles, it just felt like it was a demo. The best part was the beats at the end. I think it was mainly because of the person singing it.

While Selena has grown into a decent singer, she still doesn’t have a voice like some of the artist that Zedd has worked with. The song will be a bit better if there was a different sing that gave it a little more to it.

Overall, the song is an okay song. It’s not spectacular nor is it horrible. It’s just okay.
